Dark Sky

Night has came again, and the tears streaming down my face,with fear not sadness. The fear of my town , and the safety of the women that go running at night. I whip my tears off my face before coming out of my office,so I can explain to my team what was going on. I letting my team know that there is another victim, another young women running at night, explaining that makes thirteen women so far killed by what they call a beast man. I apologize to my team for working another night shift,once again , station nineteen my team was first on the case so they want us to finish it. I'm Kate head of the department of station nineteen, me and my partner Kyle was called in on the seen on the first victim. We only had two witnesses,come forward,since thirteen women have been killed , thirteen nights in a row. Tonight has been the fourteenth night , and lucky this woman didn't get killed but she said she was chased. She said she was lucky she was close to her house once he started to chase her. The victim describe this man as a beat looking man ,was about seven foot tall, with hairy arms ,and one side of his face all scarred up. She said it was weird he howled at the moon and said time for dinner, and then ran right at me. She then went own and said lucky my door was unlocked so I can run right in being forgetful saved my life she said. The other woman said the same thing both was lucky to be close to their house. The others not so much , he tackle each girl and bit their neck until they was dead. Every woman have marks on their necks so deep you can see bone. This beat man ,as media called him , ate the necks until he got to the bone. You ask why not much people came forward well it's a bad town in Brooklyn were no one talks to the cops. I know only thing I can do is warn people specially young women not to run at night during the press conference I did next morning, after being up half the night interviewing the fourteenth woman that would have died if she wasn't so close to her house. Once it was on the news the phones ran off the hook just to get credit for solving the murder of thirteen women. Most phone calls was bogus, until this one phone call came in and said ,he seen a man what looked like he was tying his shoe, but once he was getting up he seen blood dripping down his face hovering over a body. I asked the guy why he didn't report it ,and he simply said he knows this guy to working for the Mafia. The guy on the phone then went on and said he heard these women was wives of shop owners around the block. The guy on the phone then went of and said he knew they all was behind on payment for protection for their shops. I asked him to come down to the station to look at few pictures of men that's we have on file ,and we knew they worked in the Mafia, hopefully one of those was a match. These guys been in the system been caught for small stuff like steeling and, abuse, little stuff that fit the profile of the perv. The guy got here I and Kyle my partner sat him in a interrogation room,and sat him down. I asked him before I let him look at possible suspects how he knew they were all wives of shop owners? He said I am a shop owner, and one of the victims was my wife. I said my apologize, and sorry for your loss, he looked at me with sad eyes. He then said if him and his daughter could be in witness protection? Said it with a little hope his family would be protected, terrified on what the head of Mafia might do if he came forward. Big Benny, we all know what he can or, one of his man. We agreed to what Levi wanted and let him look at all the pages we had,and there the perv was on the last page, Steve, Malcolm. Steve Malcolm was just released a month ago for abuse. I asked Levi if he was sure? Levi shook his head yes , and said I can never forget a face that scar on his face haunts him in his dreams. I said okay ,and gave him that paper work to fill out. I let him finish up paper work while me and my man went out to find Steve, Malcolm,as we found him he was hovering over his next victim,as I screamed freeze,we got there before he could hurt her. Steve, Malcolm didn't give up a fight and just like that I solved my first case running station nineteen. I took the boys out for drinks to celebrate the case it has now been a tradition for five years now we get drinks at Frank's after every solved case. Over the five years I made a second family at station nineteen, specially Kyle,he used to be just a colleague and now my boyfriend. I never thought me and, Kyle would get together but here we are been dating a year now. I told myself I wasn't going to date anyone I worked with but when I met Kyle that all changed. We fought it all for four years of the five years of working together. I made it clear as so did he not to act on feeling we have together ,but we couldn't fight it any more four years couple bad relationships was enough until we came to conclusion we belong together. Station nineteen been my life for five years and, still going strong working at the station and my relationship with Kyle.
