What could go wrong?

It was the toughest summer for everybody due to the condition facing the whole world. Companies were losing their sales due to no way to deliver the products to customers. But after the situation got settled and the services were back on, the market started to heal as income started to flow in people's homes. After the delivery services started to work, some companies started with their sales and offered to motivate people.

     And ' DS parks ' was one of the companies who decided to make the biggest sale of their life. "A sale?" Mr. Lancer asked the girl standing in front of him in a formal dress coat and a batch with DS initials, attached to her clothes. "Yes sir, I think it will be a good idea as it will benefit our company," She said with confidence in her tone. " Melany, what are you talking about? we don't have enough money or products to go on with such a plan," Mr. Lancer said with a still curious mindset. 

   "Sir we won't need either of these things for this, " Melany said with a confident smile on her face. " It will be just for a show, we won't be giving any products on sale but it will draw attention to our products." 

     "You are saying that we should do a publicity stunt to get more customers," Mr. Lancer said to conclude her point." It's nice, but if we pull such a thing we might lose more customers than we gain after they know it's a fake sale."

     "Yes they will find it out, but the date of our sale is 1st April," Melany said with a grin on her face. Mr. Lancer feedback her with a smile to agree with her idea. "I think it's a good idea, you can start working on it from today, and you have 10days to complete the plan" Mr. Lancer after looking at the calendar. "Thank you, sir!" Melany said and left the room.

     Melany walked around the place until she reached her division which was the ' Creative Division.' It was specially made for creative minds for the company, and it also had a wide range of staff to organize all sorts of events. After reaching there, she explained to everyone the plan.

     "This plan might backfire on us," Sam said with concern in his words. "It won't, I have seen lots of pranks like this from different companies, like last year a company pranked with a big staged event," Melany said to convince everyone. "But they did have to suffer a loss after that" Sam said to fight back the plan. "But also they earned some more customers because of it and it was their mistake that it happened, while we won't make a mistake, right guys!" Melany shouted to boost everyone's confidence and it worked as everyone cheered "Yes!" except for Sam.

    After the decision was made to work on this project, they decided to start with the site first and start making a banner advertisement for the event. While Melany and Sam were in a meeting with Mr. Lancer about the sale price. And after a bit of discussion, they decided to go with 50% off on every product. While Sam stayed to talk with Mr. Lancer alone.

    "Sir, I don't think this is such a good idea," Sam said with concern and with a convincing tone. "Yeah, why do you think that?" Mr. Lancer asked while giving him a chance to explain. "I think this will not be very good for our company, because this might turn out to be a big scam," Sam said while looking into Mr. Lancer's eyes. "You have a point but you should know that we have always take a risk at something and it's an important part of a business," Mr. Lancer said as opened a file which was in front of him, while Sam stood there thinking. "Sir, I am out of this project," Sam said as he ran out of the office while Mr. Lancer watched him leave.

     After 3days of work, the advertisement got published on the site and online. Because of these advertisements the company started to see an increase in new customers installing the apps and subscribing, it was a huge hike for the company and everything was going well until the day of the event.

In the next 2days, they added more products to the site and advertised them category-wise. Not just growth in a sale but they were getting famous everywhere to put such an offer.

    4days later the time arrived when their fates were going to be decided, they were very excited, but their plan had already worked as they got a lot of new customers but now was the time for the consequences. 

After the event started people started buying products, but when they clicked on the checkout a message popped up saying, 'You just became an April fool'. At first, the whole prank was going well as people just laughed it off. But later a lot of bad critics started to pop up, and in no time the whole thing was called a scam. In social media and on the news, the whole scam was running as the hot topic.

    "Sir, we are done for, our whole plan backfired, we not just lost our customers but our image too," Melany said as she was about to cry at any moment. "It's my fault, sir," she said as tears started flowing from her eyes. "It's not your fault, I am the one who approved of this plan," Mr. Lancer said while looking at the picture of his family.

    "May I come in sir?" Sam asked after knocking at the door. "Yes, what is it, Sam?" Mr. Lancer said with a bit of a harsh tone. "Sir, I think I might have a solution for this problem," Sam said, which made him the center of attention as Mr. Lancer and Melany looked at him. "What solution?" Mr. Lancer asked with a bit softer tone this time.

    "The solution is simple: we make the sale happen but this time instead of 50% we sell it at 25% off and we will say that it wasn't a completely false advertisement," Sam said to convince everyone. "Even if the idea is good we still will be at a loss if we sell it at 25% off the price and we don't have time to make this happen," Mr. Lancer said to put his point on the idea. "Everything is already ready, all the updates for the site are already backed up and ready and I already talked to the financial department the whole 25% off is possible if we used all the stored products and we won't be at a loss, so I am just here to take your approval, sir" Sam just spoked for around 2min there but he just turned a horrible nightmare to a calming dream. "Yes, I give yes," Mr. Lancer said as looked impressed by his work while Melany looked relieved and guilty that she didn't listen to him earlier. 

     In the next hour, the new advertisement was launched, and within the next few hours the whole thing calmed down. After the whole incident, the company didn't profit much but they were lucky to get out of the situation harmless. 1 month later Sam was promoted as the head of the division, and was awarded as the employee of the year because of his brave effort to save his work and the company. And that's how the April fool day ended on 1st April.
