Adventure Holiday Kids

Cat calls.

Rrrrrrrrr. Or Purrrrrrr.

House calls.

The good ole days.

The days wherein they bring the “shot” to you.

Or am I confused with that of the Bartender.

I forget.

Maybe too many shots.

Maybe not enough shots.

I forgot.

Happy is as Happy Does.

Sick is as Sick Does.

Take your pick.

You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you cannot pick your friends nose👃

What is grosser than gross?

That is.

Grosser than gross.🤢

Time for a spelling test! Hurray! Hurray! This actually may be on the SAT on Sat morning…….Best you show up having studies your spelling words.

ok.

Let’s begin.

D-o-g.

C-a-t.

B-o-y.

G-i-r-l.

H-o-t.

C-o-l-d.

H-i-g-h.

L-o-w.

F-r-o-n-t.

B-a-c-k.

T-o-p.

B-o-t-t-o-m.

G-o-o-d.

B-a-d.

And now for the challenge word and one of the most difficult words in the English language to spell:

Challenge word: Flem.

Can I have a definition please?

P-h-l-e-g-m: Ancient Greek. (Who knew?) Inflammation, “humour” not that kinda humor). Humour caused by heat. Mucus is produced by the respiratory system, excluding that produced by the nasal passages. (Wk)

(Another reason to not pick your friend’s nose) Yuckkkkkkkkkk again.

Phlegm often refers to respiratory mucus expelled by coughing, otherwise known as sputum.

This just keeps getting better and better doesn’t it!🤢

Upchucking not allowed. Just yet. Until we are done.

To continue: Phlegm, and mucus as a whole, is in essence a water-based gel consisting of: glycoproteins, immunoglobulins, lipids and other substances. Huh?

Gross. I think.

Its composition varies depending on climate, genetics, and the state of the immune system. It’s color can vary from transparent to pale or dark and yellow green, from light to dark brown, and even to dark grey depending on the constituents.

Depending on the constituents.😵‍💫.

Will leave that sentence alone.

Did you know? The body naturally produces about one quart (about one litre ) of phlegm every day to capture and clear substances in the air and bacteria from the nose and throat.

Will leave leave those three sentences alone.

For now.

Now for the even better stuff:

Let us compare and contrast:

Phlegm and mucus.

I lived it. I know. And it can hurt. We are all just swimming in “it”.

Mucus: a normal, protective layering around the airway, eye, nasal turbinate, and urogenital tract. Snickering 🤣 allowed when we talk about areas near the “butt.”

Mucus is an adhesive Visio elastic gel produced in the airway by submucosal glands and goblet cells (Not goblin cells- although how cool is that!) and is principally water.

Water.

It also contains high molecular weight mucous glycoproteins that form linear polymers.

”Whatever”…….

Phlegm: Phlgem is more related to disease than is mucus and can be troublesome for the individual to excrete from the body. Phlegm is a thick secretion in the airway during disease and inflammation

Disease and Inflammation.

Phlgem usually contains mucus with virus, bacteria, other debris, and sloughed off inflammatory cells.

How ‘bout this for a marriage of yuck and yuck. Hello I would like to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Yuck and Yuck Sputum.

Happily Ever After?

Nope.

Why?

Once Phlegm has been expectorated by a cough, it becomes sputum.

🤢😩🫤😤

Where does sputum come from? Well. Not from Mommy and Daddy alone, together. Together, alone.

Sputum comes from infectional, usually uninvited intruders. Sputum is mucus that is coughed up from the lower (spelling word-remember….) airways (the trachea and bronchi specifically). in medicine, sputum samples are usually for a naked eye (snickering allowed, hey we just used the word naked☺️) examination, microbiological investigations of the respiratory systems. it is crucial that the specimen does not include any mucous material from the nose or oral cavity.

Translation: Life is good when you know a good and honorable dentist orthodontist, you get the point?

Whatever.

We all carry on our faces our own personal“pie holes” if you will. One giant Petri dish of fun. For some glory too. We all have them. Are born with them.

The rub here is that sputum is related to breath. To breathing. And when you cannot breathe it makes your heart work harder. Pulmonologically speaking of course😍.

A naked eye exam of the sputum can be done at home. Phew. Thankful for that house call.

Plus. And Heck.

Who would want to “swap spit” with YOU?

It is not an exact science. Why?

Am glad you asked.

Having green, yellow, or thickened phlegm (sputum) does not always indicate the presence of an infection.

So. off into the sunset we go!!

Nope. Not so fast.

🫤

If an infection is present, the color of the phlegm (sputum) does not determine whether a virus, bacteria or another pathogen has caused it.

Path

o

gen.

Besides. Simple allergies can also cause changes in the color of the mucus.

Translation: Seasonal. Seasonal allergies. Seasonal

Mucus. Seasonal Phlegm. Seasonal Sputum.

Seasonal love.

Like Spring love.

Or.

Dead of Winter.

Single for the Summer.

The Colors of Fall and

Autumnal mold.

Oh. The glorious colors of Phlegm, Sputum, Mucus, and Spit.

I can hardly stand it. It’s beauty. It’s color. It’s mark on our lives. Although we are getting close to our time to upchuck. Sometimes it is darn

Better to be out that in.🤮🤑?

Depends.

On what?

Glad you asked.

Liberties taken may not be liberties earned.

And the dreaded cycle of mucousal hock and loo-gee-ing continues unabated, untested, un challenged. Un changed.

Forgiven with, “Hey, ya don’t know whatcha don’t know.

Correct.

However, the flip side to the hocking, loo-gee-ing, spitting, whitish, greenish clump of goo.

Can be the difference between life or death.

Between breathing and choking.

Gasping for air.

Snorkeling or snoring.

Gagging or tagging.

See. It does matter. In the grand green scheme of life. Send you on your way? Hope to see you, or not. We all need a vice. Not judgin’ yours. Just sayin’.

If there is a will there is a way.

If there is integrity, watch out.

Liberties taken are not liberties learned.

Liberties taken are not liberties earned.

“Spitting mad” has more than one meaning.

Spitting can also mean rain.🙂

Spitting can mean you are mad.

In more ways that one.

Conclusion: Better out than in.

You are now free to toss it as you wish.

One shot.

Two shots.

Three shots.

Four.

To toss as you choose.

When all you want is “more”.
