Dear Diary,

Being a baby is great! Ever since I learned how to use my feet and walk around the room, I’ve been getting so many treats from my mom! It’s like an endless giveaway of food that I actually like and all I have to do is get up and walk! Don’t get me wrong, crawling is always fun, but walking gets me to my toy bin faster. There, I have so many good toys to play with and some of them I get to put together. They keep me busy for quite a while. Every now and then I have to eat this soft and mushy substance that has the words “gerber” and “organic” on it. I wonder why they would put organs in food? I don’t let that bother me though and choose to eat it anyway. After I eat, my mom holds me in her lap and my dad makes his way into the living room to sit on the huge squishy blocks. Meanwhile, I am being rocked back and forth. This makes me close my eyes. As you can tell, life can’t get any better than this.

Dear Diary,

It is my first day of kindergarten today and I am pretty nervous. My dad told me that I will do great and my mom said that I will make many new friends. It was nice knowing that my mom and dad were here for me, but I still had butterflies in my stomach. It was time to go, I grabbed my new blue backpack and nicely packed lunch that my mom made me and we headed out the door. My mom drove me to school and walked me into the huge building. When we got inside, I was greeted by so many new faces that kept on asking me what my name was. It became overwhelming and I just wanted to go home by then, but it wasn’t over. My mom stood there with the same lady who had a sticker on her shirt that said, “Hi, my name is Nancy” and talked with her forever! It was like she knew this woman her whole life. After they talked, Nancy walked me and my mom to my homeroom and I met my teacher for the first time. Her name was Mrs. Daniel and she seemed very happy to be here. She told me that I could sit wherever and that I could hang my backpack on some hooks along the wall. As soon as I entered the room I heard a little ring above me and the teacher told us to take our seats. Before I sat down, I went to go give my mom a hug and told me she would be back later. We told each other bye and went our separate ways.

Dear Diary,

In all honesty, my sixth grade year has been pretty great! The teachers I have for each class are really nice and make my first year of middle school go pretty smooth. I will complain about one thing though. The homework is endless! There is never a day out of the five days at school that we don’t get all of that extra work! In my opinion, it is a time wasting piece of paper that brings me all sorts of trouble and headaches. I don’t even have time to play on my video game anymore! I think that we shouldn’t get homework. If teachers want to teach us something it should be during the school hours provided, not on my own time. I don’t have a choice though, because last time I didn’t complete my homework, I had to do lots of chores and my xbox was taken away from me! She always unplugs it, puts it in her office, and locks the door behind her. I don’t think she realizes that I have an extra key to the room.

Dear Diary,

I got my license and a new car! Turning sixteen is the best and I can’t wait to take so many adventures in my new Mustang! It was a shiny candy apple red beauty with neatly polished tires. It had four black colored seats inside and it matched my style perfectly. Now I get to ride my friends and I around town whenever I want. I can’t wait! However, my parents didn’t let me loose just yet. They told me what every parent tells their child; I had to be responsible. I told them that I would and my dad gave me the keys for a test drive. It went fast and I loved it!

Dear Diary,

I finally decided to give dating a try and within a couple of months I think I have found the one. Her name is Sarah and when she is with me I feel like a complete person. She has brown hair and dark brown eyes. She used to live in the little town of Lexington, Texas and moved here to Grapevine, Texas. She has a nice family and has two younger brothers for siblings. Her mom and dad were always nice to me when I came over and I felt very welcomed. When a fews years passed and the time was right, I got down on one knee with a ring in my hand and asked her to marry me. She looked so happy and when she said yes, I felt like the luckiest man in the world. I was so grateful to have someone like her walk into my life! We got married and moved into our new house with lots of land.

Dear Diary,

Good news! Me and Sarah now have two kids. They are so playful and full of excitement all the time! We had two boys; one is named Levi and the other is named Lucas. They are always rowdy, but it makes me feel good to have lots of laughter fill up the house. We taught them how to clean, cook, and be gentlemen towards others. Every now and then they had to be forced to focus on their studies and get their work completed on time. They were smart and cars really entertained them.

Dear Diary,

My kids are all grown up now and it has gotten a lot harder to walk with my knees constantly bothering me. My wife thinks I should retire from my job and just settle down, then I can spend time doing things that calm me instead of stress me. I didn’t really want to retire at first, but I figured it was probably the best thing to do. One day Sarah bought me a puzzle to put together, but the mixture of oddly shaped pieces just hurt my brain. Then she gave me a paper full of all these confusing boxes and numbers. She called them “Sudoku” and told me that I would get the hang of these types of puzzles faster than I would putting together colorful pieces all day. I didn’t really understand them at first, but like she said, I will get the hang of them.

Dear Diary,

Today is my ninety-third birthday. It has been a while since I saw my boys, mostly because they are busy with their own families and cannot visit as frequently. Today they came to celebrate my old age with me and I got to see my grandchildren again. Levi and his family brought a brown, black, and white, short haired, dog. They called it a “Beagle”, but it looked more like a cookie to me. Avery (Levi’s daughter) told me his name was Bailey. He kept on sniffing me and was rather fond of the tennis balls on my cane. He ended up gnawing one of them off, leaving me with only three balls. It’s always nice to have the family back together and the grandchildren really make me feel young again. I may be getting old and life may be starting to come to an end, but as you can tell, life can’t get any better than this.
