Are you sure you want to do this?
Then I will inject the serum and give you a new life. Goodbye Iris Greyfeather.
Goodbye Sara Opal.
3 ..... 2....... 1
As of Thursday, Iris Greyfeather was gone. Her memory was gone and she left that place happy and content. She couldn't deal with the death she had caused during that competition. While she did not know if Jake Salamander had survived, she felt a guilt she did not know if she could survive. She found Sara Opal and convinced her to wipe Iris's memory.
Three years later.
I looked at the bright sun and smiled. I don't remember anything from before I woke up in a doctors office and I don't care. From what that girl told me, I don't want to remember.
"Hey, Iris!" My friend, Annabelle, yelled from her porch. "You almost done picking the carrots from the ground."
I laughed and said, "Yeah, I just got distracted."
She smiled faintly and gave a little wave before going inside.
Annabelle was the one who volunteered to let me stay with her while I recovered from the confusion no memory. That was three years ago, and she did it as a favor to Sara, the girl who found me.
I let out a sigh of comfort and pulled the last carrot in the row. After making sure I had put them all in a basket, I walked over to the house. I pulled the door open and went to the kitchen.
"Iris, make sure to get a shower. A friend from Low Sapphire is coming over." Annabelle said taking the basket of carrots from me.
"OK, who is it?" I asked.
"Jake. At least, it has- Iris what's wrong!!" She shrieked as I had just taken to the ground, clutching my head.
"H-headache." I groaned through gritted teeth.
Then suddenly, images flashed through my head. A black haired boy, A large room, a knife, a scream, blood, a yell, more blood, a larger amount this time. I let out a scream and felt someone pull me to my feet. They were panicking and kept asking me what was wrong. I couldn't tell them the death I see.
"I DON'T WANT TO REMEMBER!! STOP IT!!" I yelled and then everything faded to black.
Once I got her into a bed, she stopped screaming about blood and death. I heard her say that she doesn't want to remember, and that makes me afraid of what she witnessed.
Sara had told me that Iris was living through a bad time when she had hit her head and lost her memory. That her friend had died.
"If I known that Jake would cause her pain, I wouldn't have said his name!" I growled.
I heard the door close and I whipped around to see Jake with black hair and grass green eyes.
"What was that about me causing someone pain?" He asked with a eyebrow raised.
"You remember that girl I told you about? The one with no memory, that I let stay with me? I said your name and she fell to floor screaming about blood and death." I replied, massaging my forehead.
Jake frowned and I could tell he was trying to work it out. "Blood and death." He whispered, then looked up in a panic, " What is her name?"
"Iris Greyfeather?" I said slowly and jumped in fright when he rushed to the spare room.
"IRIS! WAKE UP!!" He shouted, shaking her shoulders.
I rushed over to him to stop him, when Iris's green eyes flew open. They were filled with pain.
"I don't want to remember. It hurts so much. Make it stop!!" It had started as a whimper and ended as a scream.
She looked at Jake and her eyes widened. "I thought you were dead. I thought that I had killed you." Tears filled her eyes and she whispered, "I'm sorry Jake."
Then she passed out.
To be continued.......
Hi, this is the author. So let me explain what happened. Iris got her memory wiped so she could start fresh start. Now three years later, Jake comes and she learns that she didn't kill him.
Preview of what could possibly happen next...spoiler it will be about Iris reliving the night of the Competition to kill.
There was a knock at the door and I shoved the knife into a holster. I shouted that they could come in and Sara Opal walked in. Her long silver hair was twisted into a bun and she had put on silver eyeshadow.
She smiled and plopped down onto the bed next to me. She fingered with her silver watch.
"Want to be allies?" She asked.
"A-allies?" I asked, "Aren't we going to be fighting each other?"
"W-well yeah." She asked.
That's when I detected a thinly veiled threat. Something tells me that she's going to do something the moment my back is turned. Should I take her offer?
I smiled then raised my hand to shake hers. She smirked and raised her hand to mine. I whipped the knife out and plunged it into her arm. She let out a screech and I yanked it out. I sprang off the bed and raced out the room.
I slid down the railing and leaped onto the ground. Thankfully, the stairs go all the way to the first floor. I ran out the front door and down the street. I wiped the knife off on my pants and stuck it in the holster.
I followed the lights that were suddenly dotted along the road. They led to a small building and I ducked inside. It pitch black out now, the watch had lied. Four forty-five had passed three hours ago.
Is this my past? What I can't remember? I don't think I like it. Did I kill that girl? I hope I didn't. She reminds me of the girl at the doctors office. Wait is that the girl from the office?
