It was October 3. My absolute favorite season; Halloween, Thanksgiving, pumpkin spice, apple cider, sweaters, and the small fires in the Autumn night. This year was stressful but special. 2 months ago today, I came out to my family as a lesbian and they accepted me! It sure has been a rollercoaster but Fall is the perfect way to calm down and have some fun. I'm in high school for goodness sake; I need some fun in my life. "Amelia! Time to go!" oh, that's my mom. Right now, we're about to go pick some apples from my grandpa's apple farm. It's really cool; he makes it public and there are always cute families with their little kids picking apples and showing them to their parents. I love going there. "Coming mom!" I yell from my room then quickly put some makeup on, check my hair and rush downstairs. My mom and little brother, Hunter, are already ready. My mom with her dirty blond chin-length hair, long sweater, and jeans. My brother with his brown hair, red t-shirt, and blue shorts; and me with my medium length blond hair, sweater, white shirt, and light jeans. I smiled and I could tell my eyes were sparkling I was so excited. We headed out the door and after 1 hour, we got there. It was so beautiful. My grandpa and I talked for a while then I got a basket and went to pick apples. I went to my favorite tree on the farm. The one I made when I was 5 years old with my grandma. But when it got in my eyesight, I saw someone else there...a girl. She was beautiful. She had short strawberry blond hair, blue eyes, a long purple sweater, a black tank-top, light jeans, and she was listening to music. I took a deep breath and walked over. I got below the ladder and took another deep breath; "Hi...uh mind if I pick some apples at this tree with you?" I could feel my face glow red...she giggled. She had an adorable laugh. I stared for a moment until she said something in the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. "Yea! Of course. I'm Haylee what's your name?" I climbed a little on the ladder and sat on it. "That's a really pretty name...um I'm Amelia." She sat down next to me giving me an apple. "Thanks, yours too. Here, these are really good." I can't stop smiling. Her eyes are gorgeous and her freckles are so cute. After a second of getting lost in her eyes, I break the silence; "So..what are you listening to?" I peek over at her phone then look at her. "Oh.." She blushes and puts her hair behind her ear then looks at me. " Um..its called girl in red...We fell in October. It's my favorite song." My smile widens with joy. "Me too! I love girl in red." We both blush as her eyes sparkle. "Well do you wanna lay down and have a picnic on the grass?" She looks at me and smiles but I could tell she was nervous. "Yea, of course." I start getting down the ladder as she follows. I take her basket and set it down then grab her hand and pull her off into my arms. We stare into each other's eyes for a moment holding hands as the wind gently blows our hair, the grass tickling our ankles. It was all so perfect. Like coming out of one of those Hallmark movies my mom watches. Then we both got back into reality and moved back away from each other. "I uh have a blanket in my grandpa's house. He also has some food. He owns the farm and it's right over there." I point over to the beautiful small house next to a tall, gorgeous apple tree. She smiles bright then takes my hand and runs toward the house. We get there and I open the door still holding her hand. I get another basket, some food, and a blanket then we run back to the tree placing our blanket down, turning the music up, and talking like we've been friends forever. It felt like only minutes ti'll it became dark. We both laid on our backs looking into the starry night sky holding hands. We kept talking for a long time. Then she turned over and so did I and we got lost into eachother's eyes then she leaned in and we both closed our eyes and kissed. My first and best kiss. I felt fireworks and magic...this girl was perfect. I loved her. She pulled away gently and smiled brighter than any smile I've ever seen. Her eyes lit up like the northern lights; beaming with color and joy. She was adorably flustered. I could stay there for days staring into her gorgeous blue eyes. She rubbed her thumb on my hand and looked into my eyes; "Amelia...will you be my girlfriend?" My face probably looks bright red. My heart was beating faster than ever. "Yes of course!" She smiled and her eyes sparkled. She leaned in and kissed me again just as perfect as the first. Her eyes glittered more than the stars. We then moved in close, her arms around me and closed our eyes then slept.  In the morning, the birds were chirping, there were orange and red leaves covering the blanket and myself. Haylee was still sleeping next to me. She looked so perfect and calm. My thumb kneaded her soft, warm fingers as the cool autumn air blew across. A small leaf touched her face and she gently opened her eyes. I blushed and quickly looked away from embarrassment. She giggled and smiled as her eyes sparkled. She kneaded my thumb and turned my head towards her. “Good morning princess. Sleep well?” I could tell I blushed hard. Before I could speak, I got lost in her eyes. “Y-yes...you?” God, she made me fluster. “Yes, I did thank you.” So polite...after a long while of talking, Hunter came running over. After a few deep breaths of his, he finally said; “Amelia! Mom says its time to go! Oh hi, Ameilia’s new girlfriend!” Hunter was so nice. My friends always complained about their siblings but Hunter is the best. I’ve never complained about him. Haylee got up and gave my brother a high five; “Hey buddy! I’m Haylee. How are you doing?” Wow, she’s even great with kids...how perfect can this girl be? Hunter was smiling high fiving her back. “Hey, Haylee my name is Hunter, and I’m good thanks!” Hunter then looked at me as I started picking up the stuff. “Amelia, try and hurry mom wants to go now.” Haylee started helping me pick up the stuff. Then she picked up my phone and asked for the password. “Oh yea sure it’s 10320” I wasn’t looking but I could tell she was smiling. She put in her number then gave it back. She helped carry the rest of the stuff to the car and met my mom. They got along really well. She seemed so comfortable and calm. Then it was time to go and say goodbye. I got in the car she kissed me on the head. “Bye, princess.” Her smile was gorgeous. “Bye,” The rest of the car ride, I put in earbuds and listened to girl in red. Haylee’s and I song; We Fell In Love In October. I was looking out the window at the autumn trees when I got a text. I checked to see who it was and it was Haylee. “I love you princess. Meet me at the cafe when you get home and bring your skates :)” I smiled at the text. I sent back; “Hey beautiful. I love you too. Okay, see you there :)” I put down my phone and continued to listen to music looking out the window as I whispered to myself; “My girl…”

I love this story! The only feed back I would give, is to use paragraphs instead. Otherwise, it was great. I love that song.
