Vanessa Perry is the author of horror novel, Wildflowers, and middle grade horror novel, The House on Peril Street. She is currently working on Throne of Whispers, the first book of a dark fantasy series. Throne of Whispers follows Oriana, an aloof fae princess of the Court of Pages, who watches the kingdom crumble after her father’s death, and learns the cost of freedom. Not a star in the sky has shone since the death of King Nadidah. Absolute darkness has fallen on the Court of Pages, and their slaves are scheduled for execution when Oriana’s brother, Abaddon the Ruthless, is coronated. Oriana must choose between her freedom or the freedom of those from the Court of Canvases, her court’s millennium-long enemy. To choose one means death for the other. Through this story, we witness Oriana creating light in the darkness that she has been cast into. To do so, however, she must learn the meanings of friendship and selflessness after centuries of loneliness. Action packed and inspiring, Throne of Whispers is a new adventure worth taking.
