His mouth said he would never leave her. His eyes said something different. She knew this but did not want to believe it. She wanted them both to get old together. She was in denial of his subtle hints that would led you to believe he would leave her soon. Like not wanting to invest in a new car with her. Pamela knew it was a bad sign but did not dwell on it. She told herself, he just doesn’t want to get into too much debt. Pamela knew Frank loved her but he just had a hard time sho...
She knew she wanted to get married some day. It just wasn’t a priority with school and work. There was basically not a lot of time for a relationship. She dreamt her marriage would be happy with a great deal of trust and affection. This all depended on whether she picked the right partner. She went to university not to find a husband but to find a career. There he was in the middle of math class asking a question. She wasn’t sure how he ended up sitting next to...
It was summer time hot and humid. I was very young about 12 or 13 years old. I lived in the city. I spent most of my days at the park or at the pool. But, I longed to be away from traffic, and hot pavement, and so many people. These are only some of the problems of growing up in the city. Is it any wonder I could not wait for camp to arrive. I always enjoyed those two weeks in the country, up north to leave the metrop...
Jesus said whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you did for me. Reading Mother Theresa and all her work with the sick, destitute, and poor, makes you understand that she took this scripture literally. What it must feel like to help so many people. Most of us have a hard enough time helping ourselves. But there are countless others that are poor and hungry in need of help. You here stories like the “Blindside” but somehow we just go on with our daily lives. I mean who would let a str...
I was invited to a neighbors barbecue. We were suppose to bring something to eat. I dropped by the local bakery and bought a strawberry cheese cake. The invitation was in my mail box a week ago. I’ve been nervous about the party since then. It brought back memories of when my husband and I use to go to parties together. We’re divorced now for many reasons. I’d still get nervous going to parties even back then. I am always afraid I’ll be the woman sitti...
I was working in a library while going to university. It seemed like the perfect place to work. It was quiet and orderly. While stacking books I got to think about things. Things I was learning in school. It allowed me to reflect on my studies and motivated me to do more work on my subjects. I would work there at night and on the weekends to help pay for my education. Mostly I did book shelving and shelf reading. Shelf reading is when you read a sectio...
It started with my nieces when they where young. They were afraid to go to sleep. So, I would tell them stories about Jesus and how he protects them when they sleep. My faith was not all that developed yet but I knew in my heart that Jesus was the answer to there fears. It began somewhat like that with me telling little girls about Jesus’s love for them and him watching over them when they sleep. I ...
Montreal is a city like no other. I was born and raised there. The winters were long and dreadful. I remember going skating and almost getting frost bite on my toes. I had to warm my feet by the furnace. The snow capped mountains made by the snow plows were great for tobogganing. But the months of January and February are bitter cold. Montreal is in the province of Quebec in Canada. Quebec being th...
People don’t like to get too close these days. Everyone has been vaccinated that wanted the shot. But still there are those hold outs. Some think it’s against there religion others don’t believe in science. So, they are risking there own life because of there beliefs. I took the subway today not many riders and of course no one sits next to you. I guess the thinking is who knows what someone else ...

She remembers how excited people were about Alexander Graham Bells invention at first. It changed people’s lives being able to talk to each other from any place in the world. Sometimes Betty saw things that she wasn’t suppose to see. Like patients storing up their medication to take all at once to try and kill themselves. It was a hostel for the dying. But some of the patients couldn’t wait for there time to come. They weren’t in a lot of pain because Betty tried to comfort them as best she could along with the other nurses. They also used drugs such as morphine, oxycontin to name a few of ...
I was always tall and slim. Until my mental health deteriorated and I had to take drugs to help myself feel well. The drugs took a toll on my figure making me gain a lot of weight. At one point I was fifty pounds heavier and feeling badly about all the weight I was gaining. It wasn’t really what I was eating it was the drugs. So would exercising really work. I made my doctor change the medication I was on and got the g...
